Armando Pimentel Angel, 71, of St. Marys died (January 3, 2020. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard J. Angel; three sisters, Zenaida Hapa, Normina Pascual, and Flor Angel.

Survived by his wife, Juanita Angel of St. Marys; two children, Gerald J. Angel of St. Marys, Amanda Faleschini and husband Peter of Fort Mill, SC; four grandchildren, Isadora, Sawyer, Wyatt and Asher Faleschini; four siblings, Laura Bartollo and husband Delfin, Jose “Pepe” Angel and wife Elsa, Marito Angel and wife Ciana, Reynaldo Angel and wife Annabelle; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday (January 11, 2020) at 11:00am in the Allison Memorial Chapel. A rosary prayer will be held prior to the memorial service at 10:00am in the Chapel.

Phillip Sellars, age 87 passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 2nd, 2020 at Folkston Park Nursing Home and Rehab Facility. 
Mr. Sellars was born on August 5th, 1932 in Colquitt County, Ga. to the late Crittendon and Marceline Sellars. 
Mr. Sellars is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Pruitt of Headland, Al.; his sister, Ruth Sellars; his two grandchildren; his niece, Joenell Murray; his great niece, Karen Murray and great nephew, Gene (Mindy) Murray III; his great great nieces and nephews, Pete and Wanda Sellars, Tara Sellars, Lisa (Jay) Jordan; and many other nieces and nephews.

Herman Wright, age 91, passed away on the morning of January 2, 2020 at UF Health North in Jacksonville, Fl. 
Mr. Wright was born on April 7, 1928 in Mershon, Ga. to the late Ambrose A. and Minnie Wright.
Herman worked as a Millwright for Gilman Paper Company for 39 years. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and traveling to all 50 states with his loving wife. One of his favorite past times was raising cattle on his family farm. Herman’s pride and joy was his family. He was at his happiest when spending time with loved ones.
Survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Juanita Wright of St. Marys, Ga.; his children, Brenda (Dick) Rowell and Bonnie Johnson, of St. Marys, Ga., and Rex (Lorie) Wright of Kingsland, Ga.; his grandchildren, Paula Lee, Kristie (Jason) Konrad, Tripp (Jessica) Rowell, Sandi (Doug) Anania, Darrell (Tiffany) Cothren, and Alan Wright; his great-grandchildren, Justin Lee, Bryce Lee, Averie Konrad, Kerstin Eyraud, Kade Konrad, Braylie Konrad, Aiden Camp, Koralee Cothren, Finnley Mae Rowell, “Lil” Rex Cothren, and Dominic Anania.
Besides his parents, Mr. Wright also joins his son, Tony Wright, two sisters and four brothers in Heaven. 
A visitation for Mr. Wright will be from 2 pm – 3 pm Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow immediately at 3 pm in the Woods-Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor George Anderson presiding. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga. Tripp Rowell, Darrell Cothren, Justin Lee, Bryce Lee, Alan Wright and Kade Konrad will serve as pallbearers.

Deborah Ann Hamer (Williams) died in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones, on January 3rd, 2020 in Kingsland, GA after a hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 57. 
Deborah is survived by her parents, Ken and Ann Hamer of Kingsland, GA; husband Jack Williams of Kingsland, GA; daughters Elisha (Mark) Palmer of La Porte City, IA, Brianna (Luke) Gilles of Waterloo, IA, Hillary (Ryan) Watson of St. Marys, GA; Stepdaughter Jennifer (Joshua) Bonnewell, Stepson Chris (Mandi and Oliver) Williams; sisters Jeanne (Mike) Spegal of Kingsland, GA, Tara (Barry) Grimm of Dysart, IA, brother Greg (Missy) Hamer of Angola, IN; grandchildren Hunter, Gracie, Evie, Joey, Henry, Maverick, Tucker and Nash; best friend Beverly Rabideau; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by maternal grandparents John and Luella Bergmeier; paternal grandparents Merle and Irene Hamer; and grandson Knox Owen Palmer. 
As a daughter, sister, mother, wife, friend, aunt and Nana, she had a creative soul and a gift to make those around her see life in a different and beautiful way. She was an accomplished entrepreneur and owner of a bookkeeping and tax office as an enrolled IRS Agent. She also had a passion for real estate and became a Realtor and HUD representative. .
A service is scheduled for January 7th, 2020 at 6:00PM at New Hope Baptist Church. Pastor George Anderson will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Deborah’’s life. Per her wishes, in lieu of flowers, she wanted donations made to the Knox Blocks Foundation, a foundation created in honor of her grandson Knox ( or P.O. Box 291 Cedar Falls, IA 50613).

Estelle “Nanny” W. Lewis, age 90, passed away on the morning of Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at her home in St. Marys, Ga. 
Ms. Lewis was born on June 4th, 1929 in Folkston, Ga. to the late Steve and Myrtle Woolard.
Ms. Lewis worked as a secretary for Gilman Paper Company for over 30 years and then upon retirement became a beloved Hostess at the Orange Hall Historical House for 15 years.
Besides her parents, Ms. Lewis also joins her husband, Paul Lewis, her son in law, Bobby Sparkman, and her brother in law, Shelton Williams in Heaven. 
She is survived by her twin daughters, Anita (Bobby) Sparkman of St. Marys, Ga. and Irene (Marvin) Whitley of Kingsland, Ga.; her sister, Thelma Williams of Blackshear, Ga.; her brother, Eldon (Jane) Woolard of St. Marys, Ga.; her grandchildren, Amanda (Alejandro) Cadena of Richmond Hill, Ga., Elise Davis of Telephone, Tx., and Kaila (Israel Sapp) Davis of St. Marys, Ga.; and her great-grandchildren, Kailyn (Michael) Mitchell, Robert A. Madera, Esaul Cadena, Mia Cadena, Austin (Ashleigh Alexander) Davis, Wyatt Kersey, Colton Kersey, Clayton Kersey and Waylan Kersey; and great-great grandchildren, Jonah Mitchell, Jace Mitchell and Giavanna Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
A graveside service for Ms. Lewis will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020 at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga. with Pastor Vernon Dillingham presiding.

Phillip Sellars, age 87 passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 2nd, 2020 at Folkston Park Nursing Home and Rehab Facility. 
Mr. Sellars was born on August 5th, 1932 in Colquitt County, Ga. to the late Crittendon and Marceline Sellars.

Frederick C. Warther with homes in St. Marys, GA and Swanton, MD died peacefully at his home in St. Marys, GA on December 31, 2019. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday.

Fred was born on December 19, 1929 in Washington, DC to Frederick J. and Alice C. Warther. He attended American University, played on the basketball team, and graduated with a degree in Accounting. He met his future wife, Mary Campbell Williams, at American University. They were married on December 27, 1952.

Upon graduation, Fred joined the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. When the conflict ended in 1953, he resigned his commission and entered into the new and promising field of computers. He rose to become a marketing executive who was highly sought by companies to market their expanding technologies. He discovered Deep Creek Lake in 1962, and purchased and restored the old stone house at 370 Rock Lodge Rd. He and his lifelong friend George Scheffel started Allegheny Welding and Machine in 1971.

He purchased 40 acres of Deep Creek Lake waterfront property from the Fitzwater Farm at Turkey Neck in 1973, built a vacation home there, and operated Byewater Antiques from that location. Fred retired in 1992, continued in the antique business, and went on to develop the Hickory Ridge community as his retirement passion.

Fred is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Campbell Warther of St. Marys, GA, and his sons Robert, Richard, and John and their families. His only brother, Melvin J. Warther passed away in 2009.

A Memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Marys, Ga on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00am. An additional service will be held at St. Johns Episcopal church in Deer Park Maryland for the internment of ashes. Memorial services in Maryland will be announced at a later date.

Jerry Nelson Edwards, 62, of Folkston passed away Friday, Dec. 27, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born Nov. 27, 1957, in Folkston to the late Jackie Nelson Edwards and Margaret Frances Barnard Edwards Parker. He was retired from the Florida Department of Agriculture after many years of service. He served as president of the Police Benevolent Association.

Survived by his children, James (Christina) Edwards and Nikki (Jonathan) Snook; a sister: Jacalyn (Perry) Howard; grandchildren, Austin Jacob Edwards, Jonathan Blake Edwards, Madison Kaylea Snook, Brian Joseph Snook and Sadie Jean Edwards.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston.

Troy James Reeves, 55 of Woodbine passed away on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born Jan. 7, 1964, in Brunswick to Rhudean Alma Crews Reeves and the late Hugh Graham Reeves. 

Troy was a graduate of Camden County High School. After graduation, he began work at Rowland’s grocery store in St. Marys, where he learned the meat cutting trade. This meat cutting experience would assist him later in life, when he dressed the deer he killed during hunting trips. Troy was hired by Gilman Paper Company and worked in the shipping department, and later Durango Paper Company, for 16 years until the mill closed. 

Troy always enjoyed working outdoors, so he decided to start a landscape company after the closing of the mill. Troy’s landscape company was known as R & R Landscaping. Troy grew the business with his partner, Johnathan Woolard, into a thriving venture that benefited the home and business owners of Camden County. Troy’s landscape designs today are visible in numerous subdivisions throughout Camden and Glynn County. 

Survived by his mother, Rhudean Reeves of Woodbine; his brother, Terry Reeves of Woodbine; his nieces and nephews, Amanda (Brad) Reeves-Hunt of Kingsland, James (Alisha) Reeves and Brian Reeves, all of Maitland, Missouri; and his great-nephew, Joseph Dean of Kingsland.

Funeral Services were held Friday, Jan. 3, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home of Kingsland, in the Woods-Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Eddie Rawl presiding. Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland is entrusted with Mr. Reeves arrangements.

Mae Lizzie Jones, 73, of Kingsland passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 4, at True Believers Church of God by Faith, in Callahan, Florida. Interment will be in Elmore-Wiley Cemetery.

Troy Edward Wise Sr., 88, of St. Marys died Sunday (Dec. 22, 2019) at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Mann, West Virginia, to the late Henry Wise and made St. Marys his home since 1966. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served his country faithfully.

Mr. Wise was a retired master electrician from Gilman Paper Company. He was a dedicated member to the St. Marys Masonic Lodge No. 109 and Point Peter Baptist Church, where he was very active and involved in all events.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emily Ives Wise, and a sister, Betty Kramer.

Survived by two children, Troy Edward Wise Jr. (wife Angie) of Alabama, Laura Allison (husband Frank) Rowe of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Cheryl Melissa Julian (husband Brad), Tristen Haines (husband Bobby), Albert Thronton, Tori Tapley (fiance Greg Harris) and Charlie Rowe; great-grandchildren, Rhiannon Mays (husband Jamie), Raygen Jacobs and Mason Jacobs; a great-great grandchild, Xavier Mays; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 28, at Point Peter Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Doug Gibson will be officiating the service.

Betty Marsh, 70, of Kingsland passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at Community Hospice, St. Vincent’s Riverside.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at Georgia Avenue Church of God, Kingsland. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Robert Lee Ayscue, 81, of Kingsland died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.

The family received friends Friday, Dec. 27, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

Deion Lamar Wallace, infant son of Devone Wallace and Robin Vance, passed away on Dec. 17, 2019.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at Lawnwood Cemetery, Scrubby Bluff Road, Kingsland.

Sunset Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Regina Ferguson, 81, beloved wife of our late father, Berend Henrick Joost (1968), went peacefully during the early morning hours of Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at Community Hospice, Fernandina Beach, Fla. 

Born on Dec. 19, 1937 in Camden, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Stanley Jack and Helena Alice Kaminsky. She is remembered with love by her son, Mark Whitney Joost of Madison, Fla., and daughter, Regina Maria Joost of St. Marys; grandchildren, Berend Richard (Charlene) Bergner of Ocala, Fla., Jeremiah Russell (Emily) Joost-Miller of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; and Christina Marie (Lester) Hilton of Madison, Fla. She also leaves her great grandchildren, Lori Belle, Robbie, Mary Jane, Lola Marie, Harley Rose, Lester Jr., Tyrion, Yadin and Isabella. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Dorothy Gelmetti; brother-in-law, James Rogozinski; sister-in-law, Evelyn Kaminsky; and her many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her late husband Berend, she was predeceased by her firstborn son, Russell McKinley Joost,; her stillborn son, Joseph; mother-in-law, Mary Delores Roth; sisters, Helen Ronca; Marie Rogozinski and Margaret Wallace; brother, Stanley Kaminsky; and brothers-in-law, Silvio Ronca, Frank Wallace, Ricco Gelmetti and John Garcia; and sister-in-law, Nancy Garcia. She is forever loved by her former husband, John Lee Ferguson (Tim, Ronnie, Gail, Matthew) of Southern Pines, N.C., and the many treasured friends who she left behind.

A joyful celebration of life will be held on her birthday at St. Marys waterfront, with a prayerful tribute to the heavens before leaving for the exquisite beauty of Cumberland Island, where she will reunite with her beloved husband and sons.

Louis M. Muro, 80, of Kingsland died Friday morning (December 20, 2019) at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida after an extended illness. Mr. Muro was born in New York, NY to the late James and Edna Krug Muro and had made Kingsland his home for the past 7 years. He ran a Junkyard for many years and was an avid fisherman. He loved attending church and playing golf and had a passion for jigsaw puzzles. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two siblings, James Muro and Agnes Fuzia.

Mr. Muro is survived by his wife, Barbara Muro of Kingsland; two children, Michael Muro wife Joann of Kingsland, Joseph Muro wife Cathy of Samford, Florida; three grandchildren, Michael Muro, Vincent Muro, Joseph Muro; a great-granddaughter, Giovanna Muro; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorialization is by Cremation. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

John Benjamin Alvarez Sr. (Benny) of Kingsland passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home Dec. 21, 2019. 

A celebration of his life was held Friday, Jan. 3, at Laurel Island Links driving range, and clubhouse in Kingsland.

Born in Fernandina Beach, Fla., on Aug. 13, 1947, to Carrie Jones Alvarez and Albert Castro Alvarez. He graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1966, lettering in all sports. He went to Gulf Coast Junior College and Middle Tennessee State University on baseball scholarships. Upon graduation from MTSU in 1970, he coached two years at Clay County High School before moving back to Fernandina Beach to coach baseball at his alma mater.

Upon retirement, Benny played on the senior golf tour for five years, then went on to be a golf instructor at Laurel Island Links, which is what he did until he was not physically able. Regardless of what he was coaching, he was always the mentor, coach and friend. Many say he is a legend, “Swing by Alvarez.”

Preceded in death by his father, Albert Castro Alvarez; his mother, Carrie Jones Alvarez; and sister, Delores Strickland.

Survived by his wife of 25 years, Harriet Waters Alvarez; son, John B (Bo) Alvarez Jr. (Darcy); daughter, Tricia Alvarez Parkin; 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; sister, Rita Gray (Colin); brother, Sammy Alvarez; mother-in-law, Dorcas Waters; sister-in-law, Marla Waters Phillips (Brent); and many nieces and nephews. His family was his delight.

Thomas Clifton Quinn Sr., 78, of St. Marys died Tuesday morning (Dec. 17, 2019) at Memorial Health in Jacksonville, Fla. after an extended illness.

Born in Douglas to the late Jimpsey Lee Quinn and Thelma Corrine Worth Quinn and made St. Marys his home for the last 57 years. He was a man of faith and passion. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and enjoyed being on his farm and gardening. He was retired from Gilman Paper Company as a superintendent and served his country as part of the United States Navy. Above all, he was a family man. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, unconditionally.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, J. Lee Quinn, Monroe Quinn and Charles Emory Quinn.

Survived by his wife, Helen Quinn of St. Marys; 3 children, Cliff Quinn Jr. of St. Marys, Kelly Gibson of Titusville, Fla., and Kathy Long of St. Marys; 6 grandchildren, Clifton Quinn III, (wife Kisa) of St. Marys, Chris Quinn (wife Tanya) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kevin Quinn of Daytona Beach, Fla., Jessie Quinn of Jacksonville, Tyler Long (wife Tara) of St. Angelo, Texas, and Chase Gibson of Jacksonville, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Layla Quinn, Savannah Quinn and Raelyn Quinn; expected great-grandchild, Gracelyn Quinn; 2 siblings, Yvonne Sanders of Brunswick and Derryl Quinn (wife Martha) of Leesburg; a sister-in-law, Jeffery Quinn of Broxton; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 19, at Westside Baptist Church. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. James Roberson officiated the service. The family requested co-workers from Gilman Paper Company to serve as honorary pallbearers.

Samuel Morris Lee died Tuesday morning (Dec. 17, 2019) at Harrietts Bluff.

Born in Charlton County on July 4, 1940, to the late Dolphus and Nellie Crews Lee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Lee; a sister, Joann Lee and a brother, Wollard Lee.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Susan Lee; a brother, Ronnie Lee; a nephew, Samuel D. Lee; and a niece, Cathy Lee Aaron.

Samuel graduated from Camden County High School in Woodbine. He then went on to graduate from Columbus State University in Columbus with a bachelor’s degree in education. After earning his bachelor’s, he then went on to earn master’s and specialist degrees in education from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.

Mr. Lee taught at West Wilkes High School in Wilkes County, N.C. After moving back to Camden County, he served as vice principal and principal of Camden County High School in St. Marys for 14 years. After serving as principal, he then went on to serve as the financial director for the Camden County school system for 13 years. He also was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Marys.

Burial was held in the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery in White Plains, N.C.
